Galveston Island

We decided to take an impromptu "after-bar" trip down to Galveston since our furniture won't be here until tomorrow.

The Hotel Galvez is absolutely beautiful. It's an historic hotel with a relaxing pool. Although I had remembered the beach in Galveston wasn't that great, I was reminded. Brett and I walked along a pier and spent some time in a shop overlooking the water, but otherwise spent our time at the pool.

One of the highlights was the icecream joint down the road that sold only Blue Bell icecream!

Thanks, WSBS!

Without the help of our Bible study group from Winston Salem, we never would have gotten our ABF truck packed or our apartment cleaned so quickly! Many thank yous to each of you who came over, sweated profusely, and scrubbed diligently! You did so much more than we ever expected! Gracias, Richard, Jessica, Sean, Christal, Brad, Carrie, Allison, Matt, and Erin!

Anniversary #2!

Today is our second anniversary and the day before Brett takes the Bar. I wasn't expecting much hoopla about the day, since I knew that he needed to study and relax. However, Brett surprised me.

Sunday afternoon we went to Cedar Spring Inn, outside Charlottesville! It's the perfect Bed and Breakfast. Set off from the highway on 36 acres, we had beautiful views of the mountains and enjoyed the pool and hot tub all to ourselves!

I had Brett for 20 free hours: we ran, swam, watched a movie, had dinner, enjoyed the deck, and relaxed! We got up today and headed to Roanoke where tomorrow he begins the bar.

In the midst of all the stress and preparation, Brett made me know that I am the most important thing in his world!

Marty comes to visit!

After spending time with Marty in Angel Fire, I got to see him even more when he came, along with his friend Klan, to D.C.! I loved having him around, acting as his tour guide. It made me so happy to get to have so many days with him during his short month home.

Marty, love you I do!

Angel Fire

For about 10 days, I spent time with my part of my family in Angel Fire, New Mexico. Marty is home from Asia for one month, and my grandparents flew from Florida. Matt, Erin, and Kadin drove over as well. Because of his BarBri classes, Brett couldn't come, unfortunately.

Angel Fire is beautiful because of it's mountains and cooler temperatures. I enjoyed shopping, visiting the Rio Grande Gorge, playing with my nephew, reading, watching movies, rescuing Marty from his bike ride in the rain, seeing a bear, hiking, and relaxing, among other things! It was fun to finally be at the place that my parents love so much! Come out and visit it some time!
